Stamos opened his birthday message by remembering how the two friends once threw memorable birthday parties for one another. Reflecting on the milestone Saget would have reached, he wrote that his 70th celebration would have been “epic” before adding that he still missed and loved him.
The collection traced their friendship through the years, from musical moments with Dave Coulier and the young Olsen twins to quieter memories later in life. The final slide showed Saget with wife Kelly Rizzo alongside Stamos and Caitlin McHugh on a beach. Stamos called it their “last pic,” revealing it was the final photo he took with Saget before his death in 2022.
Their ‘Full House’ Friendship Became a Real-Life Family Bond
Stamos and Saget first became part of one another’s lives when “Full House” premiered on ABC in 1987. Saget played widowed father Danny Tanner, while Stamos portrayed his effortlessly cool brother-in-law Jesse Katsopolis. Along with Coulier’s Joey Gladstone, the characters formed the unconventional family at the center of the beloved sitcom. The series ran for eight seasons before ending in 1995, but the relationships behind the scenes continued for decades.
