Harrison Ford may have hung up Indiana Jones’ fedora on the big screen, but he is not completely finished with the legendary archaeologist. At 84, the actor will lend his likeness to a brand-new Indiana Jones attraction coming to Walt Disney World, giving fans another chance to encounter his unmistakable version of Indy.
The Harrison Ford Indiana Jones reunion comes three years after Ford made what appeared to be his final movie outing as the character in 2023’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. This time, he will become part of Disney’s Animal Kingdom through an audio-animatronic figure created in his likeness for Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent.

Disney revealed the news during D23 2026, where Ford appeared in a prerecorded message for fans. He explained that Imagineers are using him as the model for the attraction’s Indiana Jones figure. According to Disney, this will mark the first time Ford’s face has appeared as part of an Indiana Jones attraction at a Disney park.
The ride will take guests beneath an ancient Maya temple as Indy investigates the mystery of the Jade Serpent. Disney says the adventure will feature supernatural dangers and a massive serpent inspired by Maya mythology. The attraction will become one of the major experiences inside Tropical Americas, the new Animal Kingdom land scheduled to open in 2027. The area will also include an Encanto attraction and a carousel.
Ford First Put On The Famous Fedora More Than 40 Years Ago
Ford first introduced moviegoers to Indiana Jones in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark, creating a character who would become one of cinema’s most recognizable adventure heroes. He returned for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, The Last Crusade, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and finally Dial of Destiny. The combination of the battered fedora, leather jacket, whip, dry humor, and Ford’s weary charm helped give the franchise an identity that has lasted for generations.

The new attraction also brings the character back to familiar territory for Disney fans. Disneyland opened its Indiana Jones Adventure ride in 1995, and the former Dinosaur attraction at Animal Kingdom used similar ride technology. The dinosaur permanently closed in February 2026 after nearly 28 years so Disney could continue transforming the area into Tropical Americas. For fans who thought Dial of Destiny marked their final encounter with Ford’s Indy, the upcoming ride offers an unexpected encore. He may no longer be racing across movie screens in search of ancient treasures, but the adventure clearly is not over yet.
