Priscilla Presley’s Son Defends GoFundMe Plan For His Dream Pizza Business

by Ruth A

Published July 13, 2026

Starting a business is rarely easy, even when your family name is instantly recognizable. That reality is something Navarone Garibaldi Garci recently found himself explaining after launching a crowdfunding campaign to help bring his pizza business idea to life.

The musician and son of Priscilla Presley faced criticism online after asking supporters to contribute toward the cost of an industrial pizza oven for an affordable organic pizza venture he hopes to operate from his Los Angeles driveway. Instead of backing away from the discussion, he chose to explain why he believed the fundraiser made sense.

A Business Idea That Sparked Debate

The Navarone GoFundMe campaign aims to raise $5,500 to cover equipment costs, particularly the commercial oven needed for the project. While some supporters embraced the idea, critics questioned why someone connected to such a famous family would turn to crowdfunding rather than private financing.

Navarone responded directly to those concerns on social media, explaining that having a famous parent does not mean unlimited access to money. He shared that he works within a budget like anyone else and does not believe every new idea should automatically become a financial responsibility for his mother. He also stressed that he is investing much of his own money into the project and only seeking help with the remaining costs.

More Than A Fundraiser For Fans And Supporters

Part of the criticism surrounding the Navarone GoFundMe effort centered on perceptions of privilege. In response, Navarone argued that many businesses begin with outside investment and community support rather than personal savings alone. He pointed to his own work in music, touring, and acting as examples of the career path he has built over the years.

According to People, the campaign also offers something in return for supporters. The campaign promises contributors free pizza and an open invitation to visit whenever they are in Los Angeles. For many observers, the story feels less like a celebrity asking for money and more like an entrepreneur trying an unconventional route to launch a passion project. Whether the pizza business succeeds or not, Navarone appears determined to let the finished product speak for itself and prove that the idea deserves a chance.
