Susan Lucci Shares Major Update On The ‘All My Children’ Revival

by Ruth A

Published June 24, 2026

More than a decade after All My Children left ABC, fans are still hoping for another visit to Pine Valley. Talk of a possible return has continued for years, and Susan Lucci has now shared an encouraging update about the television films reportedly being developed at Lifetime.

According to Parade, the long-awaited All My Children movie remains in its early stages, but Lucci revealed that she has already spoken with the writer attached to the project. Although she has not received a script, the actress sounds optimistic about returning as Erica Kane, the unforgettable character she played for more than four decades.

Reports about the revival surfaced in September 2024, when TVLine revealed that Lifetime was developing two television films based on the former ABC soap. One of the projects was expected to have a holiday theme, giving viewers the possibility of seeing Pine Valley and its familiar residents during the festive season.

Kelly Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, who both appeared on the original series, are helping develop the films. Earlier this year, Ripa asked Lucci during an episode of her Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast whether she would return as Erica Kane. Lucci responded enthusiastically, saying she would love to play the iconic role again. In a later interview, she explained that the project was still at an early point but confirmed that she had spoken with its writer. However, no script had reached her yet.

She Believes the Revival Is in Good Hands

Lucci also expressed confidence in the people and network behind the proposed films. She praised Ripa and Consuelos and said she believed the project was in good hands with them. Her previous experiences working with Lifetime have also left her hopeful that the network will treat the beloved soap and its characters with care.

The actress understands that longtime viewers will have high expectations if the return moves forward. After spending decades following the romances, rivalries, and family dramas of Pine Valley, fans are unlikely to accept a revival that does not honor the original show. Lucci previously described the films as “bubbling,” suggesting that conversations and development were continuing behind the scenes. Since ABC canceled All My Children in 2011, its legacy has remained alive through appearances and references on General Hospital. Walt Willey has returned as Jackson Montgomery, while the wider soap universe continues to reference Erica Kane. A new film could finally give viewers the meaningful reunion they have been requesting for years.
