Will Smith’s new album, Based on a True Story, will be released on March 28, 2025, 20 years after the last album, Lost and Found, released in March 2005. He sang some of the songs in it with other musicians, including DJ Jazzy Jeff, Jaden Smith, and Big Sean.
One of the album’s standout tracks, “Beautiful Scars,” was released as the lead single in January 2025 and featured Big Sean. The music video for the song was inspired by The Matrix, a movie Smith did not accept to act in the late ’90s.
