Joanna Gaines and her husband, Chip Gaines have always prioritized giving their kids the best childhood. However, fans expressed concern for Joanna and her youngest son, Crew, after she posted a snapshot of both on Instagram. The mother of five recorded herself in their kitchen as she prepared a meal with her youngest son.
Joanna and her husband often boast of being able to balance their busy schedule with actively parenting their children. Even though they married in 2003, four of their children can drive a car and are preparing to go to college soon. But Joanna’s recent snapshot has stirred worries from fans who normally praise their parenting style.
Joanna Gaines’ son

Joanna Gaines and her husband have five children, Drake, 20, Ella, 18, Duke, 16, and Emmie, 15, and Crew 6. Her youngest son, Crew, who appears more in her videos, has become a subject of discussion following her recent post. In the video, Joanna was stirring a pot in the kitchen, while Crew stood on the top of the marble slab, just beside the cooker and pot, peering down at his mom and the meal directly.
While Joanna simply saw nothing wrong with the act, the comment section was quickly filled with different opinions from followers. They were worried about the 6-year-old’s safety as he crossed his arms behind, dangerously standing on such a slippery surface overlooking a pot with hot water. But on the contrary, some fans rather commended Joanna for involving her son as she prepared the meal.
Mother and children
Although Joanna Gaines still has three years before four of her children leave home to further their education, she is missing them already. To help her bond with them before they leave, Joanna intentionally creates beautiful moments that bring them together.
In a previous interview, she opened up about the satisfaction she gets from watching her kids grow up to become adults who are responsible for each other. And she appreciated seeing them do the things she used to do for them as a mother when they were younger.
