Anna Nicole Smith’s relationship with Larry Birkhead began in the early 2000s, and by 2006, they welcomed their daughter, Dannielynn. Tragically, just a year later, Anna Nicole passed away from a drug overdose at the age of 39.
The past weekend was the 18th anniversary of Anna’s death, and Larry took to social media to honor her memory, sharing a black and white photo of her with the caption, “18 years ago today the world became a little less interesting without you. Remembering Anna Nicole.”

He never lets Anna’s death anniversary go by without paying tribute, and although they were not together when she died, he still makes sure to preserve her memory. He also pays his respects to her son, Daniel, who died from an accidental drug overdose at 20, shortly before Anna’s demise.
Aside from the black-and-white portrait of Anna Nicole, Larry also posted an old photo of both of them together, adding Nelly Furtado’s “In God’s Hands” of 2006. This comes a few weeks after Larry marked his birthday, which would also have been Daniel’s 39th birthday.
Larry Birkhead is raising their daughter, Dannielynn, alone
Dannielynn turned 18 last year, hitting a major milestone for herself and Larry, who raised her alone since she was a baby. They have built a life filled with adventure as a duo ever since, and Larry admitted he was not ready for her independence. He joked about hesitating every time college brochures arrived in the mail, half-wishing she would not take any offers yet.

Regardless, Dannielynn has dreams of her own and is fascinated by forensics, prompting her to take classes on it in high school. Larry loves that they now share an interest in crime documentaries; however, while he loves watching, Danielynn explores the science behind them.
