In her interview with Variety, Anderson confessed that she never thought she would be on stage, receiving an award like that. “I’m just happy to be here, in this moment,” she said. After making her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in the Tony-winning musical Chicago in 2022, her career experienced a revival. The actress who became famous as Casey Jean “C.J.” on Baywatch, never imagined she would become a Broadway actress.
Anderson also featured in her 2023 documentary Pamela, a Love Story and memoir Love, Pamela which she received praise from fans over. Her latest role in The Last Showgirl, which was directed by Coppola, shows the life of Shelley, an aging showgirl who tries to figure out life after her 30-year show closes. She felt like the part was made for her, saying, “I don’t think I could have played this character if I had not lived the life I had.”
Pamela Anderson has let go of her ‘‘cartoon character’’
Anderson has been committed to being authentic and original and this extends beyond her career. It has also influenced her personal life and beauty standards. She has embraced a makeup-free lifestyle, minimalism, and self-acceptance. “It’s really empowering,” she says. “I’m trying to find myself, underneath it all, and peel back the layers.”
“I’d rather be raw,” she says. “One eye is smaller than the other, my nose is crooked, my lips are weird. Everyone is weird. Everyone has imperfections.” The model now feels more in touch with her natural beauty by not wearing makeup, and she is now distant from her “cartoon character.”
