The Addams Family cast from the 1991 film reunited during the weekend at the Los Angeles Comic Con, and Uncle Fester’s Christopher Lloyd shared the wholesome moment with fans on X. “The family that haunts together, stays together,” he wrote.
He accompanied the phrase with a group photo featuring Anjelica Huston, Christina Ricci, Jimmy Workman, and Carel Struycken, who towered above his TV family while sitting behind them. Jimmy, who played Pugsley, was all grown up, and Ricci was too.
Fans react to ‘The Addams Family’ reunion
Fans flocked to Christopher’s comments, gushing about the eerie family and how much they have changed over the years. “Really nice to see this reunion. Your characters made our childhood brighter. Thank you!” someone wrote. “I’m so happy you’re all still in touch,” another added.
Some of Christopher’s followers took the chance to remember the late actor Raul Julia, who played The Addams Family patriarch, Gomez Addams, in two installments of the classic. He died in 1994 after suffering a stroke at 54 and then falling into a coma from which he never regained consciousness. “RIP Raul Julia,” someone stated.
‘The Addams Family’
The Addams Family was first created by cartoonist Charles Addams, who published content in The New Yorker from the ‘30s to the ‘50s. The cartoons were eventually adapted into movies, video games, merchandise, and a musical on Broadway in 2010, which featured Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth as Mr. and Mrs. Addams.
Before the feature film series in 1991, the live-action series premiered on ABC in 1964, followed by more adaptations and mentions in other shows. The most recent Addams Family-inspired series, Wednesday, was a spinoff from the original, focusing on the life of Wednesday Addams as a teenager navigating high school.
