By mid-October, McDonald’s customers can get a Boo Bucket instead of the traditional Happy Meals; however, menu items from the latter would be included in this temporary package. The Boo Bucket was famous in the ‘80s, with a few comebacks over the years.
The Halloween-themed bucket can double as a trick-or-treating container for kids and comes in white, blue, green, and orange, plus stickers for them to customize as they like. The Boo Buckets may be here to stay as an annual ritual, as McDonald’s has been consistent with it since 2022.
What’s in the Boo Bucket?

Happy Meal lovers can still enjoy the same servings in the Boo Bucket, which features a hamburger or cheeseburger meal, a 4-piece Chicken McNuggets meal, or a 6-piece Chicken McNuggets meal. Customers can also order as they choose— either in stores or on the app.
To add to the fun, each order comes with a side of fries or apple slices and a drink. Fans responded to this offer with excitement, leaving comments on McDonald’s Instagram page. “I still have mine from yearsss ago,” someone gushed with nostalgia.
Spooky competition
McDonald’s is not the only fast food chain joining in the spooky fun this Halloween as competitor Dunkin’ recently showed off their Halloween Munchkins Bucket in a single purple design featuring the viral spider donut and a new espresso and marshmallow Ube swirl combo drink.
McDonald’s lovers were also unhappy with the outlet’s design and pleaded with them to add lids and bring back the original design. “These are hot garbage and when you brought back the OGs they didn’t even have their lids,” someone complained online, while another rebutted that the adults should keep their nostalgic opinions and let the kids have them.
