Richard Simmons’ longtime friend and housekeeper, Teresa Reveles, accused the late star’s family of tampering with her co-trustee role over his estate. She called out his brother Lenny and wife Cathy for misleading her out of the benefits and has filed a petition to be reinstated.
Simmons’ family has come forward to debunk her claims, saying she was in her right mind when she declined, while Lenny maintain his role as the other trustee. They also issued a statement via their spokesperson Tom Estey, saying Teresa is motivated by greed.
Richard Simmons’ family say he would be disappointed
Simmons’ family noted that Teresa’s actions are an insult to her 36 years of friendship with the deceased fitness guru, and he would be disappointed were he alive to witness. They added that she is a threat to Simmon’s legacy of kindness and positivity, which she benefited from during his lifetime.
According to the statement, Simmons took responsibility for Teresa for years and even made provision for her well-being after his passing. Conclusively, Teresa’s request for reinstatement as a co-trustee was declined on the basis that she was working against the interest of Simmons’ estate and legacy.
Teresa Reveles remains a beneficiary of Richard Simmons’ estate
Teresa reportedly lives in Simmon’s New Orleans home despite having her own apartment. She also tried to charge his estate for living expenses and is working as a contributor on a Netflix documentary about Simmons, which may not be good for his image.
Teresa, who still maintains her beneficiary status, has taken legal steps to restrict Lenny from profiting off Simmon’s image. She claims Lenny and other members took advantage of her vulnerability while she was grieving her benefactor’s death and have successfully double-crossed her out of her rightful position.
