At the ongoing CineEurope in Barcelona, Spain, Universal released a five minute clip from the late Michael Jackson’s upcoming biopic Michael, which stars his nephew Jafaat Jackson as his youthful self. The teaser presented by the film producer, Graham King, showed the behind the scenes of “Thriller,” which was one of Jackson’s many hits.
Graham revealed that the much-anticipated project has been in the works for many years, while director Antoine Fuqua is working tirelessly to edit the already-filmed movie. Fuqua previously gushed about Jaafar’s performance, which many fans cannot wait to watch as he shares an uncanny resemblance with the pop legend.

Juliano Krue Valdi plays young Michael, and Miles Teller plays lawyer John Branca.

The first picture from the film showing Jaafar was a recreation of one of Jackson’s poses during his early ‘90s Dangerous Tour, which was captured by Kevin Mazur. He wore a white V-neck top underneath a matching collared shirt with black pants as he sang passionately into a microphone. Jaafar looked no different from the king of Pop, who looked gorgeous in his lush dark curls.
So far, Fuqua (the son of Michael’s older brother Jermaine) has been impressed by Jaafar and has been expressive about his commendations. Jaafar’s father sang and performed with young Jackson as a member of the Jackson 5 before the latter’s solo career skyrocketed. Fuqua gushed about Jaafar being just like Michael in nearly everything including looks, demeanor and behavior.
Jaafar himself has been pumped about his role, teasing on his social media with snaps from the set. Like his famous late uncle, the 27-year-old is a dancer and singer. His career took off in 2019 with his debut single, “Got Me Singing.” He also enjoys singing and looks forward to becoming a professional golf player someday.
