Adele is in the midst of her Weekends With Adele residency, which will be running through half of June. As she is performing through Pride Month, Adele heard one concertgoer jeer at the annual event, to which she had a scathing response right in the middle of her concert.
Adele has been known to interact with fans in various meaningful ways over the years. She has addressed security to stop them from apparently bothering a fan. She has also worn rainbow clothing during Pride Month in 2023. Here is the latest way she has defended the LGBT+ community.
Adele scolds a fan for yelling hate for Pride Month during her Las Vegas residency
Adele goes off on audience member who yelled “Pride sucks” at her concert tonight:
“Did you come to my f*cking show and just say that Pride sucks? Are you f*cking stupid? Don’t be so f*cking ridiculous. If you have nothing nice to say, shut up, alright?” pic.twitter.com/M3yl2mdzLV

On June 1, the first day of Pride Month, Adele was performing for her residency. At one point, she was delivering a speech to the audience. Then, an audience member appeared to shout “Pride sucks!” Video footage of the heckling has since gone viral on social media, as did Adele’s response.

By Sunday, videos circulated showing Adele firing back at the heckler. “Did you come to my f—ing show and just say that Pride sucks?” she retorted from her spot by the piano. “Are you f—ing stupid? Don’t be so f—ing ridiculous.” She then dropped some age-old wisdom, adding, “If you got nothing nice to say, shut up, all right?”
Interaction with and drawing lines around the audience
Throughout her career, Adele has situated herself as an ally to the LGBT+ community. When talking about her son Angelo in 2015, she chose her words carefully when she said, “I can’t wait to know who his best friends are going to be, who his girlfriend or his boyfriend is going to be or what movies he likes… Whatever my kid wants to do or be I will always support him no matter what.” Whatever romantic path Angelo follows, Adele has made it clear she’s here with support at the ready.
Adele also quietly became an ordained minister so that she could perform the marriage ceremony for comedian and TV host Alan Carr and his longtime partner Paul Drayton.
Adele has been protective of fans in the past, too, urging a concert security team to leave a fan alone for standing and singing along. At the same time, she has also had to draw some distinct lines in the sand and has taken a stance against concertgoers throwing things at performers.
