Adele has been performing for her Las Vegas residency, known as Weekends with Adele, all summer. During her concert on August 26, Adele, , stopped midway through her song, to address security as they appeared to scold a fan for standing up and singing.
Concert policies have changed over the decades as fans find new ways of interacting with their idols. Recently, Adele laid out some rules in an unorthodox way, making it clear she would not tolerate projectiles tossed at the stage. But one fan who stayed in his area drew unwanted attention from security – only for Adele to personally defend him.
Adele defends a fan bothered by security for standing up and singing
A TikTok video shows Adele singing “Water Under the Bridge.” At one point, she stops singing to ask what is happening in the crowd as a disturbance ripples through the gathered fans. Security was situated around a fan who was standing up and singing along.

“What is going on there with that young fan who’s been bothered so much since I came on for standing up?” Adele is heard asking. “What’s going on with him? Yes, you, with your hand up, yes you!” Adding the security team to the conversation, she continued, “Why are you all bothering him? Can you leave him alone, please? They won’t bother you anymore, darling. You enjoy the show. Leave him alone.”
The show must go on!
The incident became water under the bridge as Adele prepared to resume her song at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The security team quickly did as instructed and Adele apologized, “Sorry, guys. He’s been bothered the whole show by security and other people sitting behind him. He’s here to have fun. All of you are here to have fun.”
Adele has a demonstrated history of being apologetic with any fan she feels has been inconvenienced. Last year, she unexpectedly had to postpone one of her residency concerts. In response, she tearfully FaceTimed would-be concertgoers and offered them free merchandise, drinks, and even meet-and-greet opportunities.
“I’m thankful for you being so graceful to me. I really appreciate that,” she told one fan who assured her he’d be fine returning to the area for the rescheduled concert. “That’s my manager right next to you… When you come back, whenever that is, we’ll do a meet-and-greet for free.”
Just don’t throw objects at the stage – she’s armed with a T-shirt cannon and will use it!
@juanp_lastra Adele thank you so much for this breathtaking night and for standing up for me, so that I could live your concert as it should be. I’m also sorry that I didnt respond back to anyrhing you asked me. you started talking to me and I literally stopped breathing. I had been planning to come to this concert for over a year and I finally had the opportunity to come see most beautiful glorious woman this earth has gotten. I still can not wrap my head around the fact that I was in the same room as ADELE, sang every song with her, and she even stopped the show to defend me. I did not expected everyone in my section to be mad at me for having the time of my life and wanting to stand up and sing with her but I honestly did not care at all about what anyone was saying to me I just was in awe with the master piece I was watching with my own eyes. I did not have time for them haters. @Adele Access #adele #weekendswithadele #lasvegas #ceasarspalace🇵🇷 ♬ original sound – juanp_lastra
