On a Wednesday’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, TV personality Kelly Ripa revealed her potential decision to let go of her blonde hair and go gray. During the discussion, Kelly told her husband, Mark Consuelos who is also her co-host that she spends more time just to get rid of her gray hair now, and it’s getting tiring as it keeps sprouting back out in no time.
The 53-year-old admitted that dyeing her was such an “endless” process that Mark kept checking in to see if she was “done.” On top of that, she also shared that there are chances that some gray hair will still be left and this made her wonder if the dyeing process is worth it.
Kelly Ripa wants to ditch her signature blonde hair for gray hair
Mark seemed excited at the idea of his wife growing out her natural hair color, and asked if she was sure about “letting the gray happen.” Kelly is sure about going gray, however, she is bothered by the appearance of her hair as “It’s almost translucent in its quality” and doesn’t retain the gray color.

It is not Kelly’s first time changing her hair color as she attempted it during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. The 53-year-old experimented with adding a touch of “brown eyeshadow” to the roots of her hair which was going gray to keep up her public appearance, claiming that “certain people look great with gray hair” but she was not ready at the time.
In 2020, Kelly would often post “root watch” Instagram stories to give a glimpse into her natural hair color which started turning gray at the time. Mark then teased in the comment section that he is “looking forward to when it’s just completely gray.”
To tint her roots, the mother of three swears by L’Oréal Paris Magic Root Cover-Up calling it the “best”, as she explained that it “requires little effort” to apply and has “fast” action. Other celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow of Goop, Salma Hayek, and Jennifer Aniston have proudly shown off their silver locks on multiple occasions, and hopefully, Kelly will join them soon.
