Fans were surprised to see ’80s pop star Glenn Medeiros in a TikTok video with his daughter, who was on American Idol. Father and daughter were doing vocals in the clip captioned, “Whenever I ask my 80s teenage pop star dad to make a TikTok,” which is one of many.
Glenn often features in his daughter’s lyrics videos and funny skits, mostly referring to his pop star era. As an 18-year-old, he released his smash hit, “Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love For You,” the song peaking at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and quickly becoming a must-play at wedding receptions.

The 58-year-old, who also made waves with “She Ain’t Worth It,” finally left music to become a teacher in Hawaii in the ’90s. Glenn still relives his role as a singer in his daughter’s videos, which have racked up over 17 million views so far.

To date, he enjoys seeing people’s stories “about how that song played a special role in their lives many years ago.”
“The song of mine I love singing most is ‘Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love For You.’ I enjoy people singing along with me,” Glenn, who became a school principal in 2017, said.
Pop star dad
Glenn may not be a pop star anymore, but he sure remains one to his daughter, Lyric. He shares the 22-year-old and an older son named Chord with his wife Tammy, whom he married in 1993. Born to a talented singer herself, Lyric graced the American Idol show this year and made it to Hollywood before getting kicked off the competition series. She started out “safe,” according to judge Katy Perry, and got another shot to do Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats,” which she delivered impressively.
Years ago, her father was on stages blowing listeners away as well, and he recalls seeing the world beyond his hometown as the “most interesting story” of his career. “Traveling to over 20 countries around the world by the age of 18 after not traveling anywhere outside my home of Hawaii only two years prior,” Glenn reminisced.
