From Blythe Danner to her granddaughter Apple Martin, beauty runs through these women’s genes, and they show it off without fail. Gwyneth Paltrow’s mom and daughter joined her event for Goop and Gucci, which she organized with UK-based stylist Elizabeth Saltzman.
Paltrow hosted the dinner party at her house in the Hamptons to celebrate the designer’s Summer Stories collection and Goop’s newest skincare release, the Youth-Boost Peptide Serum. She wore a red, white, and blue Gucci set, complete with white wedges, while Apple went for a ’90s-inspired look featuring a sleeveless blazer dress, black heels, and her hair in a sleek ponytail.
Stardom runs in the family
The family matriarch, Danner, wore a white buttoned dress with matching sandals and completed the classy look with a silk scarf. Danner is a successful actress who has starred in many movies, including Netflix’s Happiness For Beginners, and has multiple nominations and a Tony award for her Broadway roles.

She credits her daughter for helping her “work a lot” because she keeps her name in the press. “This is such funny business, they see your name and say, ‘Oh, yeah, she’s still around. Maybe she could do this,'” the proud mom said. Danner shares Paltrow and her brother, Jake, with TV producer Bruce Paltrow, and she admitted to slowing down her career to raise them.
Mom Paltrow
Paltrow followed her mother’s path as a Hollywood star and now has two children. She shares her 19-year-old Apple and a younger son, Moses, with her ex-husband, Chris Martin. In a recent conversation at the Red Sea International Film Festival, Paltrow was grateful to Danner for inspiring her interest in acting.
“When she was on stage, she was the most powerful, integrated force of nature that I have ever seen. And so I wanted to be that,” she said. Like her mom, Paltrow also stepped away from acting in the early 2000s to focus on raising Apple. “Everything felt redefined for me at that moment, and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to pursue acting as a career anymore,” the Goop founder recounted.
