Michael Douglas is currently overseas in India and he is joined by his wife Catherine-Zeta Jones and their son Dylan. There, he was honored at the International Film Festival of India, which awarded Douglas the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award.
It hasn’t been all business during this trip abroad, however. The trio also enjoyed the sights and made sure to stop at some major tourist destinations in South India. Most of the time, Douglas and Zeta-Jones, who also share daughter Carys, share family photos sparingly but this vacation celebration provided some rare looks at a more candid side to the famous family.

After heading to Goa, a small state in the lower half of India, Douglas, Dylan, and Zeta-Jones stuck around to do some sightseeing. Earlier this week, Douglas took to Instagram to share photos of him alongside his wife and son. They can be seen standing in front of the Brihadeeswara Temple, one of the most revered buildings constructed by the Chola Empire in the 11th or 12th century.

“Sightseeing,” Douglas captioned the post, “with the best @catherinezetajones @dylan__douglas #India.” In the pictures, they are seen wearing traditional flower garlands around their necks and have tikas, traditional red marks, painted on their foreheads.
Continuing the tradition of cinematic excellence
Douglas was honored at the IIFI for his legacy in film, celebrating a career that stretches back 57 years. Douglas, who just turned 79 this September, has also won two Academy Awards, five Golden Globe Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and the AFI Life Achievement Award.
The ceremony proper took place on November 28 and it’s this most recent accolade, presented to him by Bollywood star Ayushmann Khurrana, that holds a special place in Douglas’s heart.
“It’s a tremendous honor to receive this award,” he mused. “It’s a career life achievement. When I heard about the award, my family and I were elated.” The Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award was first awarded in 1999 and celebrates creatives for their “outstanding contribution to the growth and development of World cinema.” Another recent recipient is Martin Scorsese.
Congratulations, Michael Douglas!
