Rumors about Hollywood couple Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones breaking up have been circulating, and recent events between the two seem to prove this. Michael and Catherine have been offloading their vacation home in Bermuda, causing more speculations about the state of their marriage.
An insider claimed the rumors were true, while Lyndy Thatcher, the Sotheby’s International Realty agent in charge of selling the couple’s 9,500 square feet English country-style house in Warwick, Bermuda, confirmed their home was indeed up for sale at about $12 million.
Living Separate Lives
The celebrity duo acquired the house in the early 2000s and have lived most of their lives there with their two kids, Dylan and Carys. The 196-year-old prized Longford house of over three acres has five bedrooms, a 50-foot-long cedar veranda, an herb garden, a tennis court with covered viewing pavilions, and a gated pool.

The insider told Radar Online that the couple left their gorgeous mansion behind to live separately— Catherine in Europe on a charity golf tour and Michael in their upstate New York spread along the Hudson River. “The marriage is over, but they don’t want to do the whole divorce and separation thing,” they said. “So, they have this arrangement that’s working for them because nobody knows about it. They are definitely living separate lives.”
Their marriage changed since their first split
Ever since the couple separated for the first time in 2013, their marriage hasn’t been the same. “Their marriage was never really the same after they reconciled following their brief split,” the insider added. “Since she was suffering from bipolar at the time, she didn’t want to separate from him. So, they got back together publicly but remained separated.”
At the time of their initial breakup, one of their neighbors told The Sun the couple are like ‘chalk and cheese.’ “Most of his friends are in New York. He likes the city, and she likes horses and playing golf,” they said. The couple reunited in 2014 and have had a seemingly beautiful marriage since then until recently. “They’re hitting 23 years together, and he’s going into his 80s, and she’s still young at 53,” the insider added, highlighting that Catherine would want to live her life. The actress is currently enjoying the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship celebrity amateur contest in Scotland alongside her actor friends Andy Garcia and Kathryn Newton.
