A hairstylist recently shared a video online that garnered a lot of attention from social media users. The post featured a little girl getting a ‘70s shag haircut that turned out to be adorable. “The cutest shag on the cutest girl,” the caption read.
The shag style is more common with older people, but this cute client wore it even better, and TikTok users cheered in the comments. Her hair was a lot for her age, which is likely why her parents brought her to stylist Emmy for a trim.

The girl had rich long hair that was sure to turn heads, and the stylist skillfully trimmed the wet hair to fit the frame of her face. The little client sat in the chair with the cape covering her entire body as stylist Emmy worked on her tress.

The thick mass of hair stopped at her back, while Emmy worked to the top to create curls after perfectly layering the other parts. After all was done, the adorable child looked like an adult and Emmy’s followers could not get enough of her.
Back to the ‘70s
The Shag cut became popular in the ‘70s after stars like Joan Jett, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Rod Stewart, David Cassidy, Jane Fonda, Stevie Nicks and Florence Henderson started to rock it. It was created by a barber named Paul McGregor and consisted of feathered layers at the top and sides.
Over the years, the Shag has been recreated into varying styles like the Wolf cut, however, people still go for the original. The wolf cut differs from the shag by the shorter cut in front and bangs in some cases. New-age celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, and Camila Cabello have stepped out in wolf cuts a number of times.
