Sharon Stone-Inspired Haircut For Women Looking To Go Short In Their ’60s

by Peace A

Published February 22, 2024

Sharon Stone showed up at the Berlin Film Festival’s red carpet wearing a floor-length Dolce & Gabbana dress and a black statement cape, but her new side-sweep haircut stole the show. Lately, Sharon has opted for darker, warmer hues with blonde streaks and is showing more creativity with her style.

The Basic Instinct star looked gorgeous as she strutted by in the designer ensemble, which she accessorized with a dazzling stone necklace. Her shorter hairdo was a delight to see, with celebrity hairstylist Luke Hersheson recommending such for women her age.

Hersheon says, “A short haircut that’s long on top and shorter at the back is timeless.” Sharon’s choice is nothing too new and has been popular among other celebrities for many decades. Julie Andrews did it in the ‘60s, and Linda Evangelista and Demi Moore did it in the ‘90s, making it a timeless choice.

Hersheon gave more tips on how to rock Sharon’s style with class and durability in mind, noting that “you have to wear the haircut, you can’t let the haircut wear you.”

“Haircuts now have fewer bells and whistles — if you want to retain that sense of youthfulness, use minimal products and have the confidence to let the haircut do its thing,” he added.

Stone made the cropped look even better with highlights, which, according to Hersheon, gives “the illusion of texture and thickness to hair and therefore should be considered when trying out a new haircut.” One could also go bolder like Olivia Colman, who went platinum blonde with her raven pixie cut last November. Switching up color also changes makeup choices, with sharper lipstick tones complimenting best.

Another awesome thing about Sharon’s cut is the versatility and low maintenance, requiring little touch-ups. “Being able to move the front of the hair around, whether that be scraped backward, pushed to the side, or tousled forward, has its advantages,” Hersheon explained. “Not only does it give you more styling options, but a long fringe can make fine hair appear thicker and disguise a long forehead, too.”
