Dick Van Dyke had a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious time returning to his roots with a day trip to Disneyland. On Sunday, 97-year-old Van Dyke was spotted alongside his wife, 57-year-old Arlene Silver, as the two navigated the park, with Van Dyke in a wheelchair.
Van Dyke is something of a Disney veteran thanks to titles like Lt. Robin Crusoe, U.S.N. and 1968’s Never a Dull Moment, but especially with the beloved Mary Poppins. So, while Van Dyke and his wife of 11 years enjoyed a day at the park, fellow park visitors had a particularly special time seeing a “Disney legend” in their midst.

Van Dyke and Silver visited the Anaheim, California Disneyland theme park over the weekend and the couple was spotted in various places throughout the park. At times, Van Dyke was in a wheelchair, pushed by an individual clad in a light-colored shirt and red tartan vest. Silver layered a funky black shirt over a purple tank top as she strolled beside her husband.

Through it all, he appeared to be in good spirits. He even basked in the entertaining features the park had to offer, like a Dapper Dan performance.
His chipper attitude was especially evident in a video posted by a parkgoer on Instagram and shared by the @disneyland_celebs page. “Actor Dick Van Dyke was seen at Disneyland today,” the caption reads, thanking @philichavez for the footage. It shows Van Dyke leaning on an ornate railing beside Silver, both waving and smiling happily at those below them.

For parkgoers, this was a particularly special moment, to visit the Happiest Place on Earth and see such an important part of its history. “An absolute magical moment being able to see the one and only D.V.D!” one person commented below the video.
Another gushed, “I would have lost my collective spoon full of sugar if I saw the absolute legend there.” Yet another cheered, “TRUE DISNEY LEGEND!”
Van Dyke had a mild health scare earlier this year when a car crash resulted in him needing stitches on his chin; but otherwise, he only suffered mild injuries. Even at his age, Van Dyke has tried to stay active as much as he can, which helped him enjoy the park. “I’ve always been an exerciser and still am,” he explained back in 2019. While he has slowed down, it is clear his smile isn’t about to any time soon!
