Spices don’t really spoil, but if they have been sitting in your pantry for years, they won’t taste as good. They also may not be as strong. Keep track of how long you have dried herbs and spices and use fresh versions whenever possible for a better flavor.

2. Sear and then cook meat

For restaurant quality chicken, beef, and other meat, sear it on the stovetop first. Then finish cooking the meat in your oven to make sure it cooks evenly. If you’re cooking steak, make sure to make it rest after. Let your steak sit out for about 5-10 minutes after it is cooked before you cut it. It will give you the juiciest and most delicious steak ever.

3. Prep your ingredients before you start cooking
