Gray hairs can start popping up on your head as early as your 20s. As you get older, more gray hairs will come up and it can be expensive to keep dying your hair all the time. It also depends on your hair color. Gray hair isn’t as noticeable in blonde hair, but if you have dark hair, grays can be a stark contrast and make you look older than you are.

If you want a more natural way to get rid of gray hairs and go back to your natural hair color, you can try using potato skins. Dying your hair isn’t only expensive, but it damages your hair and can make it dry and brittle. It can also make your hair fall out. Natural recipes can be a good compromise to fix hair issues without damaging your hair.

Start by peeling six potatoes and add the skins to a pot that is filled with four cups of water. Boil for 25 minutes. Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes after to cool down. Strain the liquid and throw out the peels or use them for something else. Add some essential oils to make it smell better and continue to let it cool. Lavender is a great scent to use if you could use some relaxation.

Next, take a shower and wash your hair normally. After you wash your hair, coat it with the cooled-down potato juice. Massage it into your hair and then rinse out with cold water. You can also leave it on for a while using a shower cap if you’d like.

This recipe can also help strengthen your hair, make it shiny, or help your hair grow. The starches in potatoes are a natural colorant and have been used as a dye alternative in fabrics. Keep in mind it may work better for some people and that you have to use it at least weekly to see the effects.
