Grandson Discovers Grandfather’s WWII Photo Album In Library Decades Later

An incredible photo detailing Major Harold Claridge’s deployment in World War II.

The photo above was a picture that Sawaya gave to Claridge as he was called to Alamein. The back of the photo said, “Don’t forget me,” dating back to 1940.

It’s unknown as to how this photo album ended up in the National Library of New Zealand, but it was undoubtedly an emotional discovery for Longman as the photos took him back through time, seeing pictures of his young grandparents and mother together.
