Kelly Clarkson is a multi-platinum singer, winner of the first-ever season of American Idol, and now a coach on The Voice. Fans recently noticed that she has been looking slimmer as she continues to rank high on pop and country charts and appear on award shows.
Kelly, 36, has recently opened up about her weight loss. She says she was recommended the book The Plant Paradox and has been working on a new clean eating regime.
She made the changes due to being diagnosed with a thyroid issue and says it was never about losing weight but feeling healthier.
Since starting this new clean eating diet, she has lost about 37 pounds.
She raves about the book and claims that she is no longer on any medications because of her new healthy diet. The book advises cutting out different types of whole grains, dairy, nuts and nightshade vegetables such as tomatoes. She is also aiming to not eat any GMOs and stick to strictly organic foods.
According to People, her husband, Brandon Blackstock, says that Kelly is happy and feels great but that she loves herself no matter what size. In the past, Kelly has had to deal with body shamers when she was at her heaviest weight. She has often stood up for herself and her body and showed others that you can love yourself no matter what.
Brandon has also joined her in this new diet and the pair feels healthier than ever. The two were married in 2013 and have a daughter and a son together. What great role models for their young children!
