Donny Osmond has performed on some of the biggest stages of his six-decade career, but his latest performance required little more than a kitchen countertop. The 68-year-old entertainer recently joined singers Anthony Gargiula and Jonathan Tilkin for their popular “Kitchen Singing” series, where the trio revisited one of Disney’s most memorable songs.
According to Yahoo Entertainment, the Donny Osmond Mulan connection immediately turned the casual performance into a nostalgic moment. Osmond provided the singing voice for Captain Li Shang in Disney’s 1998 animated film, and hearing him perform “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” again nearly three decades later brought the familiar song into a completely different setting.

Osmond joined Gargiula and Tilkin for a short rendition of “I’ll Make a Man Out of You,” beginning with the song’s famous opening before the performance expanded into three-part harmonies. The singers held the final word of the familiar “dark side of the moon” line for several seconds, prompting an enthusiastic Osmond to celebrate how well they had pulled it off.
The Instagram video quickly attracted attention, collecting more than 460,000 likes. Gargiula and Tilkin described singing alongside the original voice as a childhood dream come true. Gargiula also revealed that his mother became emotional while meeting Osmond over FaceTime, while both singers praised the veteran entertainer’s kindness after their time together.
A Disney Song Connects Two Generations of Performers
The kitchen performance was especially meaningful for Gargiula, who first saw Osmond as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway at age 7. That experience helped inspire his own dream of performing there. Now, after building an audience of more than 8 million through his “Kitchen Singing” videos, Gargiula is set to make his Broadway debut in & Juliet on Sept. 15. Osmond continues performing during his Las Vegas residency at Harrah’s through June 2027.
