Hulk Hogan’s close friend Eric Bischoff has offered a heartfelt look into the WWE icon’s final days. Speaking on the July 29 episode of his 83 Weeks with Eric Bischoff podcast, Bischoff shared that Hogan was noticeably weaker during their last visit but still remained focused on his work. Hogan died on July 24 at age 70.
According to Bischoff, the wrestling legend expressed hesitation about being seen due to his condition. “I really want to see you, but I’m kind of embarrassed for you to see me this way,” Hogan said. However, their meeting went ahead, and the two spent nearly an hour together, mostly discussing upcoming business plans and projects.
He Remained Hopeful And Driven To Work
Despite physical decline, Hulk Hogan’s final days reflected his deep passion for work. Bischoff said Hogan’s energy was limited, and though he wasn’t gasping for breath, speaking took noticeable effort. Yet Hogan kept the conversation lively, showing strong interest in wrestling updates and promotional ideas.
Bischoff offered to set up interviews to give Hogan something to look forward to. Hogan was enthusiastic, saying, “Brother, I can’t wait… I’ll be good on the phone.” Bischoff also texted Hogan’s wife, Sky, to stress there was no pressure, and Hogan should only participate if he wanted to. She appreciated the gesture and support.
His Final Moments At Home In Florida
On the morning of July 24, emergency responders were called to Hogan’s Clearwater Beach home at 9:51 a.m. They performed CPR and continued efforts until 10:28 a.m. before transporting him to Morton Plant Hospital. Hogan was later pronounced dead, according to People.
Through it all, Hogan never stopped thinking ahead. “He loved the hunt,” Bischoff said, describing his friend’s unrelenting spirit. Even in his final moments, Hogan remained the same man fans admired—determined, focused, and passionate about what he loved.
