Rod Stewart’s Children Reunite To Honor Him At The 2025 AMAs

Rod Stewart’s happiness at the 2025 American Music Awards in Las Vegas knew no bounds as his children honored him on stage. The legendary singer received the Lifetime Achievement Award, but what made it even more meaningful was a surprise appearance by five of his children.

At 80 years old, the singer was moved as he walked onto the stage at the Fontainebleau, only to find five of his eight children waiting to celebrate him. Kimberly, 45; Sean, 44; Ruby, 37; Renee, 32; and Liam, 30, stood together to celebrate their father’s legacy. Each of them spoke briefly, with pride and affection for the man they call “Papa Stew.”

The tribute began with a short video that looked back at Rod Stewart’s life and decades in music, from his early hits to his later songs. Then came the family. The reunion caught Stewart completely off guard, and his reaction made the moment memorable. Rod Stewart shares Kimberly and Sean with ex-wife Alana Stewart.

He shares Ruby with his former partner, Kelly Emberg, and Renee and Liam with his ex-wife, Rachel Hunter. His three other children include Sarah, 61, whom he shares with Susannah Boffey, and his two youngest sons, Alastair, 19, and Aiden, 14, from his current marriage to Penny Lancaster.

The appearance of his children touched Stewart, who admitted he was stunned and thought the tribute had been pre-recorded. Despite the emotional moment, the singer still managed to make some humorous remarks before expressing his deep gratitude for the award and those who had helped him along the way.

Music career

As the ceremony neared its end, Stewart acknowledged his humble beginning, musical roots, and those who inspired him, naming artists like Sam Cooke and Muddy Waters as influences in his life. Then he performed one of his songs, “Forever Young.”

The same evening, Stewart’s daughter, Kimberly, showcased her baby bump during the family’s time on stage. She is expecting her second child and has shared the news publicly, but kept the name of the baby’s father private. Her first child, Delilah, 13, is from her previous relationship with actor Benicio Del Toro.
