There have been speculations about Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster’s 27-year-long marriage hitting the rocks; however, the singer-songwriter has come forward to clear the air via a statement released on social media. The 79-year-old had had enough of the false headlines and decided to publicly reaffirm his love for Penny.
The couple met in 1999, got engaged on the Eiffel Tower in 2005 and walked down the aisle two years later in history. They both share two children, Alastair and Aiden, however Rod also fathers six more children from previous relationships.
Rod Stewart sets the record straight on his marriage
In straight talk and no chaser style, Rod posted a note which read, “There is absolutely no rift between Penny and I and no disagreement over where we should reside, in fact it’s the opposite.” He urged his followers to trust him on the fact that he and Penny could not be more in love with each other lately.

The post soon went viral, with fans commending Rod’s move to protect his family from the media. “It was none of our business and I’m sorry you had to stand up for yourself like this. Stronger together for sure,” a follower penned, while another agreed, saying that “true fans ignore the rumors.”
Lasting love
Rod’s previous marriages and relationships hardly ever lasted but has been a learning cycle for his longtime union with Penny. The father of eight has been accused of cheating on multiple occasions, and even began dating Kelly Emberg while being very much married to his first wife Alana. Although Rod and Kelly never walked down the aisle, their 7-year relationship resulted in Rod’s third child, Ruby.
