On Monday, May 26, Americans marked Memorial Day, a federal holiday to remember the men and women who died while serving in the United States military. As usual, many celebrities posted tributes online to show respect and appreciation for the sacrifices made. Among them was Candace Cameron Bure, who became famous for her role as DJ Tanner on Full House.
Candace shared a picture of a young boy giving a salute in front of a white cross covered with the American flag. In her caption, she included a short Bible verse that talked about the kind of love where someone gives their life for others. She also wrote a few lines honoring those who died in service and said their bravery should never be forgotten.

A number of fans said they were thankful for her words and called the message thoughtful and respectful. Some mentioned that the post felt meaningful to them, especially because of the scripture she chose. Others said they were glad someone in the public eye was reminding people of the day’s true purpose.
Even so, there were others who felt differently about the post. Some people thought it was not the right time to bring religion into the conversation and pointed out that not all who served or died shared the same faith. A few asked why the focus was on Christianity instead of simply remembering all fallen soldiers.
Candace Cameron Bure’s post is not the first one to divide fans
This isn’t the first time Candace Cameron Bure shared something that got people talking. Back in July 2024, she made headlines again when she posted a video about the Paris Olympics. She said she was upset after watching the opening ceremony because of how it used religious symbols.
She felt it showed Christianity in a way that didn’t sit well with her. That video also split her audience. While some agreed with her views and said they felt the same way, others thought she was reading too much into the performance.
