Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas are celebrating their daughter Carys as she closes a big chapter in her life. The 22-year-old graduated from Brown University, and her parents were there to enjoy the moment with her. Zeta-Jones shared a photo showing her and Douglas each kissing Carys on the cheek just before the ceremony.
In the picture, Carys wore a long white dress while her father looked sharp in a navy suit, and her mother wore a matching two-piece black suit. The family celebration continued with more photos on Zeta-Jones’ Instagram story. She posted a picture of a graduation cake with a congratulatory message written in frosting and a group photo of Carys and her classmates at the university.

Carys received a degree in Film and International Relations. Her brother Dylan, who is now 24, also went to Brown and graduated three years ago. The siblings have followed similar paths when it comes to education, both choosing the same university.
While Carys has shown interest in film and international topics, Dylan has focused more on creative projects and public work. Their parents who have always supported their choices, have kept their children away from the constant spotlight that often follows celebrity families.
Michael Douglas said he was once mistaken for a grandfather during parents’ day
In 2024, Michael Douglas shared a funny but awkward moment from his visits to Brown. He explained that someone once mistook him for a grandparent during a parents’ event on campus. He had to explain that he was in fact, a parent, not a granddad, and admitted that it wasn’t the easiest moment for him.
Douglas also opened up about how becoming a father later in life changed things for him. Years ago, he had always placed his career first, but that began to shift after he had children with Zeta-Jones. Now that both kids are grown, he said he and his wife are entering a more relaxed stage. With nearly 25 years of marriage behind them, the couple now spends more time travelling and enjoying life at a slower pace.
