Set against the backdrop of his rehearsals for his 1992 Dangerous World Tour, MJ the Musical takes audience on a journey into the behind-the-scenes events surrounding Michael Jackson’s ascent to stardom through an interview with documentarian, Rachel with whom he shares memories from his early days performing with the Jackson 5 to his groundbreaking collaborations with producer Quincy Jones which birthed iconic albums like Thriller.
However, the production does not shy away from some of the darker aspects of his journey, especially his relationship with his father, Joseph Jackson, whose relentless drive for success often crossed into emotional and physical abuse, even though there was no mention of the several allegations that almost tainted his legacy.
