John Travolta lost his wife, Kelly Preston, three years ago, and according to reports, he is ready to be remarried, except that he has specific criteria for his potential beau. The Pulp Fiction actor has a list of qualities he requires in a partner, including her alignment with his religious beliefs.
Kelly died in 2020, leaving John and their surviving kids—Ella Bleu and Ben—behind. “John just needed to feel ready, and now he is,” a source told National Enquirer. “He knows Kelly wouldn’t want him to spend the rest of his life alone, so he’s finally allowing friends to line him up with dates.”
What does John want in a woman?
Now that John is “beginning to yearn for a partner,” he is on the lookout for someone with certain qualities, including those he considers unnegotiable. “John believes a matchmaker would save time by finding someone who meets his list of criteria,” the insider shared. “He’s not asking for much, just that she be kind, warm, gracious, funny, and spontaneous. And being attractive wouldn’t hurt.”

It is likely that John is hiring a matchmaker due to his beliefs as a Scientologist, especially because the church allegedly hires such services. There have been rumors of a fellow celebrity member, Tom Cruise, using the Church of Scientology’s matchmaking service in the past, which further revealed how he met his ex-wife, Katie Holmes.

Life after Kelly
Kelly passed after a longtime battle with breast cancer which was kept from the public until her death. “Choosing to keep her fight private, she had been undergoing medical treatment for some time, supported by her closest family and friends,” a family representative announced at the time. “Her family asks for your understanding of their need for privacy at this time.”
Last year, John paid tribute to Kelly on what would have been her 61st birthday with a simple note on Instagram. “Happy Birthday Kelly! We love you!” he captioned the photo of his late wife wearing a fuschia nightdress and lying on her stomach with a warm backdrop. He also honored her on their 32nd anniversary with a photo of their daughter, Ella.
