Rob Lowe has always taken his health seriously, but now that he’s in his 60s, he’s even more focused. The longtime Atkins ambassador has been working harder to maintain his body in shape, noting that eating well becomes increasingly important as one gets older.
Lowe, who turned 61 in March, said he is trying to be extra disciplined now. He began his clean lifestyle years ago and hasn’t slowed down, maintaining regular workouts, a strict diet, and plenty of sleep. Last year, ahead of turning 60, he admitted that staying fit now takes more intention than it did in his younger years. Still, he’s fully committed, and it shows.

On Easter Sunday, Rob Lowe was seen jogging shirtless on a beach in Montecito, California. He wore red shorts and a matching backward cap, tucking his blue shirt into his waistband. His chest was on full display, and the sun had given him a slight burn.
Even though he looked toned and healthy, Lowe joked to photographers nearby that he’s not the man he used to be. Still, his beach run proved that his routine is working. He kept a steady pace and seemed relaxed as he moved along the sand.
Rob Lowe talks about his fitness routine
Lowe says that sleep, exercise, and food choices are the keys to his youthful appearance. He told USA Today earlier this year that he gets a lot of sleep every night. He uses an eye mask and noise-canceling headphones to help him rest properly.
His diet is another big part of his routine. He switched to a low-carb, high-protein meal plan in his 30s and has stuck with it ever since. While he jokes that he wishes he could live on pie and milkshakes, he knows his body feels better with clean food. Lowe also quit drinking almost 35 years ago. He says that staying away from alcohol has helped his health in a big way and kept him feeling balanced.
