Rob Lowe Weighs In On Clint Eastwood’s Aging Hack That He Swears By

Rob Lowe is proving that age is just a number. At 60, the actor is still as energetic and sharp as ever, and he’s not planning to slow down anytime soon. In a recent chat with AARP, Lowe shared how an older Hollywood legend once told him to dial it down as he got older. Instead, Lowe did the exact opposite; he decided to dial it up.

With a career that has spanned decades, a happy marriage to Sheryl Berkoff, and two grown sons, Lowe has found his own way of aging. It’s not just about looking good; it’s about staying active, curious, and full of life. For him, getting older isn’t something to fear; it’s just another adventure, and he has only one legend to credit for that, Clint Eastwood.

Rob Lowe still lives by Clint Eastwood’s aging hack even after his injury

Lowe’s active lifestyle comes with its risks. Over the holidays, he was surfing in Hawaii when he wiped out on a wave he admits he had no business riding. The crash left him with a separated rib that still hasn’t fully healed. Even with the lingering pain, he refuses to let it hold him back.

He credits legendary actor Clint Eastwood with inspiring his mindset. Eastwood once told him, “Never let the old man in.” That phrase stuck with Lowe, reminding him that aging doesn’t mean getting weaker. This helped him take control of his own body.

Rob Lowe has his own philosophy on aging

Clint Eastwood’s advice may have shaped his outlook, but Lowe has his own take on what it means to stay young. In a conversation with Howard Stern, he explained that youth isn’t just how you look; it’s also attitude. According to Lowe, the real key to staying young is curiosity.

He believes that young people are the ones who stay interested in the world, keep learning, and try new things. As people get older, it’s easy to become stuck in routines and lose that excitement for life. That’s something Lowe is determined to avoid. He also argues that no matter how good someone looks, if they’ve lost their passion and energy, they won’t seem youthful at all.
