All My Children fans were treated to a walk down memory lane on a recent episode of Live With Kelly and Mark, as Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos welcomed their former co-star Cameron Mathison. The three of them, who once acted out a love triangle on the iconic soap opera, enjoyed themselves, reminisced, and gave each other accolades during the heartwarming meetup.

Mathison, who acted as Ryan Lavery, reminisced about the intensity of soap opera viewers, recalling moments when audience members reacted vehemently to his character’s attempt to set Hayley and Mateo at odds. Ripa and Consuelos both acted as the on-screen darling couple, and they also recalled the drama that once captivated viewers.

The reunion brought back memories of the dramatic storyline involving Ripa, Consuelos and Mathison. Mathison jokingly recalled a time when a bus driver yelled at him in public, demanding he stay away from Hayley. As someone who felt like his character was actually a good guy, he was shocked by such incidents.

Consuelos chimed in in defense of his friend, reminding viewers that actors simply follow the script. Ripa also burst into laughter, fanning herself with cue cards as she reminisced about the intense on-screen drama. Despite the tension that their characters had, it was apparent that the relationship between the three actors is still strong and full of mutual respect.

A friendship standing the test of time

Even though the actors had clashed on screen, Ripa, Consuelos, and Mathison couldn’t speak highly enough of one another in real life. Ripa called Mathison “the loveliest person” and marveled at how he hadn’t aged in over 20 years. Mathison returned the kind words, saying the compliment meant a lot coming from two people he deeply respected.
