Michael J. Fox has always been known not just for his passion for acting, but for using his platform as a voice of awareness for Parkinson’s. Michael J. Fox stepped into the Nashville spotlight on April 16 for this cause, joined by several country legends. The Back to the Future star appeared at A Country Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson’s, a benefit event supporting the Michael J. Fox Foundation. It was held at the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts.

The 63-year-old actor posed on the red carpet with several country music icons, including Sheryl Crow, Little Big Town, Chris Stapleton, and Kelsea Ballerini. Fans were thrilled to see Fox, who was dressed in a tan suede jacket, floral button-down, black pants, and brown boots.

Fox flashed a smile while standing beside Crow, 63, who wore an all-black country-chic look for the evening. He also posed with country supergroup Little Big Town (Karen Fairchild), Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook, and Phillip Sweet. He had a moment with singer Chris Stapleton. Kelsea Ballerini and her boyfriend, actor Chase Stokes, also joined in for photos, as did Today show anchor Willie Geist.

The event marked the third annual country music benefit organized by Fox’s foundation to raise funds for Parkinson’s research. Each year, it draws both big names and passionate supporters, showing the magnitude of Fox’s impact offscreen.

Yet, through it all, he founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, now the world’s leading organization for Parkinson’s funding. His work has raised over $2 billion toward finding a cure. Though he rarely makes red carpet appearances these days, his presence at the benefit showed how committed he is to the cause.
