Shirley Jones first rose to fame with her film debut in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! (1955), where she played the role of Laurey Williams. She won an Oscar for her performance as a prostitute in the 1960 movie Elmer Gantry.
She married actor Jack Cassidy in 1956, and they had three sons, Shaun, Patrick, and Ryan, before divorcing in 1975. She later wedded Marty Ingels, whom she married in 1977 and remained with until his passing in 2015.
