John Goodman devotes himself entirely to acting when he is on set and sadly, the 72-year-old actor suffered a hip injury during the production of director Alejandro González Iñárritu’s latest movie at Pinewood Studios near London. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, and production was postponed until he recovered.
Although the movie’s title is yet to be disclosed, some cast members include Tom Cruise, Jesse Plemons, and Riz Ahmed. It will be released on October 2, 2026. The movie centers on a very powerful man who causes a disaster in the world and goes on a mission to show himself as the savior of humanity.

John Goodman’s selfless acting skill is widely recognized. He has won the Primetime Emmy Awards and the Golden Globe Award and has starred in several projects, including Atomic Blonde in 2017 and The Emperor’s New Groove from 2000 to 2008.
During the set of his most recent movie, Goodman sustained the hip injury as he was practicing his lines in the studio. Because of this, he will be taking a break until he can continue without any pain. According to Wanna Bros, Goodman will return to set by Monday, and production will continue.
However, this is not the first time John Goodman has suffered an on-set injury. In 2022, he was involved in an accident while recording a fight scene for HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones. In the particular scene, Goodman fell and got injured. He was given immediate medical attention as well before he continued acting. But despite these minor injuries, Goodman still remains passionate about his career.

John Goodman used to be very much concerned about his weight when he was nearly 400 pounds. Determined to change the narrative, he changed his lifestyle, started a new diet, exercised regularly, and shed over 200 pounds.
By 2024, Goodman looked different and healthier. Sadly, disaster struck in January when his Los Angeles home was destroyed in the Palisades fires. However, he is undistracted by this as he is focused on advancing his career.
