The musical originally premiered on Broadway in 2021, offering an intimate look into Michael Jackson’s creative process leading up to his 1992 Dangerous World Tour. Prince’s attendance in Sydney highlights his continued dedication to preserving his father’s legacy and celebrating his impact on music and entertainment.

Prince has remained committed to honoring his father’s contributions to music and pop culture. Alongside his siblings Paris and Bigi, he attended the London premiere of MJ: The Musical last year, showing their shared enthusiasm for the production’s global success.
Beyond the production, Prince also spearheaded an event called This is Thriller to commemorate his father’s legacy. He announced on Instagram that the event will take place every five years, having started in October 2024, at the Palace Theatre in Los Angeles. It will celebrate Thriller, one of Michael’s most iconic songs and albums.

As MJ: The Musical continues to captivate audiences worldwide, Michael Jackson’s legacy will soon be explored in a major biopic titled Michael, set for release on October 3, 2025. The film stars his nephew, Jaafar Jackson, and promises to deliver an honest and riveting portrayal of the King of Pop.
Prince Jackson has also used social media to pay tribute to his father, marking the 15th anniversary of his passing with a heartfelt Instagram post. He shared a photo of Michael performing at the Super Bowl XXVII halftime show in 1993, writing, “Miss you pops. The world felt better with you in it.”
