During a recent press conference, Simon LeBon, the lead singer of the band, commented on Taylor’s condition as he was notably absent at the Sanremo Music Festival in Italy, an event where the band was billed to perform. He shared that the 64-year-old musician could not attend the event because his battle with advanced fourth-stage metastasized prostate cancer was still ongoing.
Despite the sad news, LeBon highlighted the unwavering support and sense of solidarity within the band, stating that all members of Duran Duran are fully committed to standing by Taylor as he continues to battle the terminal disease.

Taylor’s life and career have been severely impacted by his ongoing battle with prostate cancer. The disease had forced him to miss some significant events, especially the 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Los Angeles, where he and his bandmates were part of the inductees.
In the heartfelt acceptance speech posted on the group’s website, the musician explained prior to the event, he had been experiencing a tremendous recovery through a breakthrough treatment from his physicians. However, just a week before the ceremony, he suffered a serious setback which, although not life-threatening, prevented him from attending the event.
