Krystal Keith noted that despite her father having passed away the previous year, it had felt longer than that because of his absence. His son, Stelen Keith Covel, shared a video of his father playing his guitar and singing If I Was Jesus, with the caption, “A whole year without my hero. Here’s to hoping for more nights like this. Love you, Dad.”
While every tribute to Toby Keith detailed his love and warmth, it was even more evident in his adoption of Shelley Covel Rowland, his wife Tricia Lucus’ daughter. After battling stomach cancer for two years, Toby Keith passed away at 62 years old, survived by family and friends who still hold him dear to their hearts.
