Glenn Close Prefers ‘Modest’ $699K Montana Home – She Swears Other Senior Citizens Can Live The Same Way

For decades, Hollywood stars have followed an unspoken rule that bigger is always better when it comes to real estate. Their lavish mansions have expensive features like infinity pools, gardens, private theaters, and even more bathrooms than they need. However, Glenn Close lives differently. Instead of an extravagant estate, the legendary actress has chosen a simpler, quieter way of life.

After years of dazzling her audience with iconic roles, Close stepped away from the fast-paced entertainment world to retreat to a private,e peaceful life. In 2019, she left New York City for another home where she gets to relish the serenity of nature.

Where does Glenn Close live?

Close now lives in Montana, having settled in Bozeman alongside her siblings and close friends. She enjoys the small-town warmth, where she can wave to her neighbors and take in the breathtaking mountain scenery. The peaceful environment suits her so well that she’s already planning to buy another home in the area.

She recently shared that she’s building a larger retreat about 30 minutes from town, which she is planning to make her “Zen farmhouse” family sanctuary. Behind it, she will add a stone cottage inspired by some of her fondest childhood memories.

How much does Glenn Close’s Montana house cost?

Glenn’s current house was built in 1892, and the brick walls show off a story of history and modern comfort. It is a three-bedroom, three-bathroom property spanning 2,316 square feet. It features an inviting front porch, an open floor plan, and sleek stainless steel appliances. The fully restored home cost $699,000 when Close purchased it in 2016.

The house is located within walking distance of downtown, giving Close a peaceful escape where she can soak in Montana’s beauty. While her living space may seem modest compared to Hollywood’s usual excess, it is clear the 77-year-old would not have it any other way.  Retirees can take a cue from Close to embracing a restful lifestyle as they age.
