Sally Struthers was recently spotted taking her dog to the vet in Beverly Hills, just days after a shocking podcast interview about her experiences in the entertainment world. She appeared on January 13’s episode of the Let’s Talk About That! podcast, where she caused a stir with her expose.
The actress opened up about difficult moments with television producer Norman Lear and Hollywood icon Betty White. For her public appearance, Struthers wore an all-black ensemble featuring knee-high boots and a gold heart-shaped necklace, which was apparently the same outfit she wore for her viral interview.

Struthers described her time on the set of All in the Family as isolating and frustrating. She explained that while her co-stars Carroll O’Connor, Jean Stapleton, and Rob Reiner were often invited to social gatherings hosted by Norman Lear and his wife, she was left out throughout the eight years she worked on the show. Despite winning two Emmy Awards for her role, Struthers shared that she felt undervalued, often receiving minimal lines compared to her colleagues.
Struthers also recalled an incident where White informed her that she was hired because, just like Carroll O’Connor, she had blue eyes and a fat face. After enduring these demeaning encounters, she attempted to leave the series during its fifth season. However, her legal efforts to terminate her contract proved unsuccessful.

Struthers also recounted an incident with Betty White during a work session for another project. In a room full of people, White reprimanded her for trying to take a cookie from a plate, suggesting that it was not a wise choice. The snide remark left Struthers feeling self-conscious and embarrassed.
Reflecting on the experience, Struthers clearly does not share the same fond perception of White that many others, including fans, seem to hold. She described the late icon’s personality as passive-aggressive.
