While discussing with Kelly, Melissa admitted she still sees Little House on the Prairie with her granddaughters, and occasionally, her mom walks in on them and gets emotional. The mother of two addressed the evergreen nature of the series, noting that the message remains relevant regardless of the generations watching.
Little House on the Prairie focuses on family, community, and love, which every person desires. Though set in 1874, the show addressed social issues such as racism, chauvinism, and antisemitism, which the world is still dealing with centuries later. Melissa believes the same lessons relevant to the present world can still be taught.
