Record producer Quincy Jones recently passed away at the age of 91, but this did not stop fans from discussing his unhinged remarks about other celebrities in the media. Jones made shocking revelations against late pop star Michael Jackson and even the late former U.S. president JFK.
Since Jones built a reputation around making these false claims, he was silently set aside by the black community. He once apologized for his conduct via a lengthy tweet as he asked for a second chance to do better.
Quincy Jones’ claims about Michael Jackson and JFK
Jones accused Jackson of stealing most of his songs and claimed to know exactly who killed John F. Kennedy. He called out late actor Marlon Brando for sleeping with Marvin Gaye, James Baldwin, and Richard Pryor during an interview for GQ and Vulture, where he also claimed Ivanna Trump is his ex-girlfriend.
The late music producer later admitted that his six daughters staged an intervention on his behalf, hence his apologies to those he had hurt in the past. He noted that although he had quit drinking, memories from past events hit him all at once, and he could not keep the information to himself, hence the word vomit.
Quincy Jones apologized for his false accusations
Jones said he originally intended to address social issues like racism, inequality, homophobia, and poverty; however, his approach overshadowed his true message. He also thanked his friends and family for calling him out in private to help save his public reputation and that of the community.
While the cause of his death is not yet confirmed, Jones was said to have passed away peacefully with loved ones present. Jones, who is known for his work with Jackson, Frank Sinatra, and Ray Charles, reportedly suffered from multiple health conditions in his lifetime, including brain aneurysms and diabetes.
