Jack Merrill from Law & Order, and Grey’s Anatomy made a chilling revelation about his experience with serial killer John Wayne Gacy, a.k.a. the killer clown, as a 19-year-old. Wayne’s criminal identity was unknown to Jack at the time, so he did not inform the police immediately.
Soon, the news of Wayne’s arrest made the news, and Jack attempted to share his experience with The Chicago Sun-Times. Wayne was eventually executed in 1994, while Jack moved to New York to pursue his acting career, and he is currently working on telling the terrifying story 45 years later.
Jack Merrill details his encounter with John Wayne Gacy
He was returning home from swimming at the YMCA in Chicago when Wayne pulled over and offered him a ride. The actor did not hesitate, thinking it was going to be a short drive around the block; however, Wayne did not stop until they got to Kennedy Expressway, northwest of downtown Chicago.
He then suffocated Jack with a rag drenched in some substance that made him pass out, waking up in a dark house and in handcuffs. Knowing she was in trouble, Jack refused to fight back and obliged to Wayne’s orders– including a beer and pot-smoking session together.
Jack Merrill felt sorry for his abuser
Sadly, Wayne raped Jack after putting a contraption device around him that was designed to choke him if he struggled, plus a gun in his mouth. Knowing there was no help coming, plus his experience with abusive parents, he knew not to defend himself and simply accept the assault.
He admitted to being sorry for Wayne, noting that the killer clown did not enjoy whatever he was doing but could not stop either. After the devastating ordeal, Wayne dropped Jack off at home and dropped his phone number in hopes that they see him at other times. Having healed to a large extent, Jack retells his story on his new show The Save in Los Angeles.
