The Presley household held a star-studded event on Graceland’s sound stage over the weekend, celebrating the release of Lisa Marie Presley’s posthumous memoir, From Here To The Great Unknown, which her daughter Riley Keough helped complete.
Present at the venue was actress Nicole Richie, who gave her summary of the book, calling it an old-fashioned family sitcom that made her laugh and cry. The highlight of the ceremony was Priscilla Presley’s surprise appearance and interview with Riley.

While Richie and Riley discussed on stage, Priscilla showed up, to their surprise, and joined the conversation. She asked Riley about her relationship with the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, who was married to Lisa Marie in the mid-90s. Riley was only a little girl at the time and admitted to having fond memories of the late singer.
Maria Samaniego of Bakersfield also graced the event with her presence, noting that it has been her dream to see Graceland in her lifetime. The crowd was thrilled to see the 62-year-old, who revealed that she named her daughter Priscilla as a tribute to the Presley matriarch.
An event to remember
The event saw thousands of fans from different parts of the country, including Wisconsin, Texas, Illinois, and Alabama. They each got $40 tickets to attend and for a complimentary copy of From Here to the Great Unknown. They all cheered as soon as Priscilla stepped in, making their trip all the more worthwhile.
Richie was also delighted to see, as she commended Riley for expressing such rare empathy between parent and child in the book. Riley recalled how much her mother loved Graceland, and Priscilla chipped in, saying it was because Elvis hardly disciplined her there. She praised Riley for her efforts in preserving the family legacy, tagging herself a proud grandma.
