Riley Keough appeared on a recent episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna to promote Lisa Marie Presley’s posthumous memoir From Here To The Great Unknown. While discussing this with the show hosts, she became vulnerable about her relationship with her grandfather, Elvis Presley, despite never meeting him.
The 35-year-old claims she feels a sense of connection to the Rock ‘n’ Roll king, who died when her mother was only 9. With Lisa Marie’s help via tapes and diaries, Riley was able to complete the memoir, which details life with Elvis until his passing in 1977.

Co-host Hoda Kotb was curious to know how Riley connected with her granddad, and she responded by saying it was through Lisa Marie. Being Lisa Marie’s daughter meant she could witness and feel the love for Elvis firsthand, and hearing his voice or listening to his music evoked her emotions.
She also got a glimpse into Elvis and Lisa Marie’s father-daughter bond while listening to the recordings the latter left her, which she used in completing the new release. Fans have also testified to connecting with the Presley household on a deeper level after reading the book, just like Riley intended.

Like those before her, Riley has embraced the spotlight as a teen model and actress, starring in multiple hit series and films like Magic Mike, The Good Doctor, and Daisy Jones And The Six, where she showcased her singing talent on the featured Aurora album.
Riley has directed and produced a few movies including War Pony, which earned her a Caméra d’Or award for best first feature. She is the current owner and overseer of Elvis Presley’s Graceland Estate in Memphis, having inherited it from Lisa Marie as a sole trustee alongside her stepsisters Harper and Finley.
